RivierPark Maasvallei long-distance footpath

This 137-kilometre cross-border trail connects the 11 Dutch and Belgian towns along the River Meuse by way of the RivierPark Maasvallei trail, as it wends its way through delightful scenery and charming villages. In April 2021, this trail was voted the ‘Best long-distance footpath in the Benelux'.

't Veerke foot and cycle ferry

Sittard-Geleen forms part of the RivierPark Maasvallei. In Grevenbicht, cycle intersection 19 (NL) and 46 (B), you can cross the River Meuse by 't Veerke, a ferry for foot-passengers and cyclists.

Opening times: April and October: at weekends only, from 10 am to 6 pm
May to September: every day from 10 am to 6 pm

Price: free-of-charge
National cycle network: between cycle intersections 46 and 19
When water levels are too high, the ferry may be temporarily taken out of service.
